Cornwall Schools Boccia Competition
SPARC were delighted to help support the Lord Taverners Cornwall School Boccia Competition which was held at Cornwall College on Wednesday November 30th.
The event was organised by Cornwall College and Boccia England which saw over forty students from Newquay Treviglas, Truro College and Cornwall College competing.
There were some very creative team names with the Boccia Beasts, Cornwall Harriers and Temple Tigers to name just a few of those who were eyeing up the gold medals!
The competition was split in to two groups with some excellent boccia and sportsmanship on display throughout. Following the conclusion of the group stages Truro College, Temple Tigers, Boccia Beasts and Laurens Lions advanced to the semi finals, both were two extremely close and tense games but Truro College and Temple Tigers both did enough to make the final!
The final was very closely contested during all three ends and despite Truro College taking an early lead the Temple Tigers, who are coached by SPARC on a weekly basis came back to win 3-1 much to the delight of students and staff alike!
Both teams will go on to represent Cornwall at The South West Regional event in Exeter in February and we are looking forward to working with the Tigers in the build up the competition.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in what was a hugely successful event at Cornwall College.
